Welcome Back PAS Members!

Weekly Recap

Welcome back PAS members! We hope everyone had a great spring break and are ready to begin the rest of the semester refreshed and ready to work. As you know, the week before spring break we hosted the Roger CPA review.  We had a great turn-out.  Students who attended the review  were able to learn valuable information regarding the changes to the CPA exam.  One lucky student, Tram Le, won an entire CPA exam review course for FREE!  One of the advantages of being a PAS member is having access to any events PAS hosts. Make sure to take advantage of these events by attending as many as your schedule allows.

Upcoming Events

We officially completed our first half of the semester. Though our semester is coming to an end, PAS will not be slowing down.  We will be visiting another firm next month, as well as hosting our Excel workshop.  Additionally during April, we will begin awarding one of our members by naming them Member of the Month.  PAS would like to recognize our outstanding members for their hard work and dedication. Lastly, look forward to our end of year social that will take place after finals.  We will be congratulating those that are graduating and inviting our sponsors. Not only will the social be a great way to say goodbye before summer, it will give you an opportunity to network with companies that may be offering interviews during May for January internships.

Roger CPA Review

Our guest speaker, Dede Nwanguma, surprised all of us when she announced that someone will have the chance to win the entire review course for free. Congratulations Tram Le!  We are excited that one of our PAS members has won the Roger CPA Exam Review course.  For those of us that did not win, we were able to obtain invaluable information regarding the exam and now have Roger CPA Review on our radar.  Taking the CPA exam requires intense studying.  It is important that we choose a review course that will provide us with the necessary information and strategies to pass the exam. Make sure to visit their blog.  You never know when they will offer another giveaway.

Leadership Meetings

Every Tuesday from 4:30-5:30 p.m., the executive team and committee chairs meet with our faculty adviser to discuss ideas for PAS and the organization of upcoming events.  Our leadership team would like to invite any members that are interested in leadership within PAS, to join us during this time.  Attending the meeting will allow you to see what it takes to manage such a large student organization.  Soon, we will be announcing positions within our leadership team that will be available at the end of this semester.  If you are interested in applying for an available position, the first step will be to attend a meeting to witness what it takes to be a leader first hand.  If you plan to join us this Tuesday, please email pas.secretary@gmail.com.  We will send you an agenda that will be discussed during the meeting.  We hope to see you there!

Leadership Skills Development Program

On April 16th, join Texas Southern University from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., to enhance your leadership skills.
