Spring 2016 Semester Begins!
We welcome you back PAS members and hope everyone had a wonderful winter vacation. After a great Fall term, the Professional Accounting Society has much planned for another fun, exciting, and informational semester. There will be ample opportunities to meet and network with peers, faculty, and professionals this Spring. Below you will find what we have taking place this week in PAS. Stay tuned weekly for various announcements and make sure to get involved!
The professional Accounting Society has so much planned for this semester! Not only will we be having more Excel workshops to expand our spreadsheet skills, we also plan to have another Etiquette dinner to expand our professional skills. These skills will come in handy if you land an interview by networking at our future firm visits. We plan to visit not just one public accounting firm this semester, but two! More details on all these events is still to come. PAS will also keep you informed on events hosted by other organizations and the community to broaden your professional network. The Houston CPA Society is hosting a student auxiliary meeting on January, 22nd. Details can be found below.

Our mission is to provide an association that facilitates networking opportunities to obtain leadership, team building, and organizational skills for its members. To continue to offer these opportunities we need more active students such as yourselves to become involved and assist with organizing these events. Join us this week at our reserved tables to tell new students your experience with PAS and how it has benefited you in hopes to persuade them to join. This can also be a great way to say hello to everyone you haven’t seen since last semester!

Missed the VITA training? No worries! You can complete the training online! First, please sign up for the Neighborhood Centers volunteer management system by clicking here. Second, watch the following videos from a previous live training class in order. There are two levels of certifications, basic and advanced. Once done, complete the IRS exam by following the procedures at the end of the last basic video. Lastly, sign and form 13615 and send to jbisso@neighborhood-centers. org.
